Default Attempted Break-In

Well, this is the second time so far this year. They didn't get in, but the cover was pulled half-way off and there are some minor scratches around the door handle.

My '05 vert stays outside 24/7/365 w/ cable locked Noah cover. No choice as I live in a beach apartment a few yards from the ocean and parking is at a premium. It's a well lit area pretty close to my bedroom window, but I can't hear everything if I'm sleeping.

I have a red Club on the steering wheel as an added visual deterrent, and nothing is kept inside the car. I installed a hood to conceal the chrome extinguisher on the passenger floor which works terrific (see photos.)

Even though it's an upscale area, any beach resort does have it's low life element. Just the risk I have to take. So far I've been pretty lucky.

Still waiting on my stimulus check so I don't have to work anymore

Glad you got away with only a couple scratches and they didn't bust the window or something worse.

Our stock fobs and security are lacking...

I got a 2 way additional security system that when set, the alarms go off if it detects motion----This is even adjustable, like if a cat jumps on the hood it wont go off, but if somebody starts to jack it up to steal the wheels alarm goes off..

Yeah, nice bonus in the pay check. It all goes to the oil companies since price of gas jumped up $.60 in my area in 6 weeks.

Some people will always screw with a car if it is left alone. They obviously were idiots since the Vette can't be started. without the FOB.

Recently there was a guy down here that was tourching cars in the middle of the night. He would just drive down a street and set fire to half a dozen cars at random, then leave and do it again somewhere else. They finally caught him. Where's the logic in a person like this?

Sounds like you need a paging alarm system...catch em in the act. I had a Crimestopper Page Alert on a 55 oval I restored. 2:30 in the morning, my pager started beeping, went out the door, and caught two guys trying to steal it. They were a little surprised to see me. One guy had popped the rear driver quarter window, and was inside my car, other guy was parked next to my car, sitting in a truck. Truck took off with the headlights out, and left his buddy with me, and my 12ga

It's called sin. People are rotten, not just some.

I'm sure there were those at the time who asked about the logic in this and called it a sin...
According to the Gospels, Jesus took offense to this (extorting profit from the people to hear the word of God), and so, creating a whip from some cords, drives out the money changers, and turns over their tables, and those of the people selling doves Matthew[21:13] And said unto them, It is written, My house shall be called the house of prayer; but ye have made it a den of thieves.21:14 And the blind and the lame came to him in the temple; and he healed them.21:15 And when the chief priests and scribes saw the wonderful things that he did, and the children crying in the temple, and saying, Hosanna to the son of David; they were sore displeased, Jesus said, "Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out demons. ''''Freely you have received, freely give." (Matthew 10:8).
I'm no Bible scholar but maybe this guy who is torching cars in a clearly wealthy area of San Diego wants people to invest in the poor, blind and lame instead of in their cars, Mr. GotChrist. Just a thought.

Default Trap them!

Leave the cover off one night and get the local LEOs to stake it out. When they try, trap them and fry them. You know these creeps are out every night looking for a target of opportunity!

Just a thought.
