After reading about painting vs. powdercoating and the difference in cost and color choices, I decided I would paint mine today since it will be raining most of the weekend.
I have a Magnetic Red Vert with chrome split spokes, I thought about yellow since most of the red hi-temp paints are closer to Victory Red, so I finally decided on a darker gold.
Now I am on the fence, not sure if it is too much bling or do I need to go with Black??? What do you think????
Everyone has red or black, just trying to be different, but not sure if I want to be that different....
Doesn't look too bad, but would be easy to change color now while they are still clean.
in the light it looks washed out. the chrome wheels and shiny rotors make it blend in.
Trust me do it red. Gold letters if you like
if you used the brush paint kit it has the high temp in it, get the red to match your car, tape it all off and spray over the gold a couple of times...then if you want use a clear coat. go to this link and you can see on the rear where I didnt tape it off completely LOL http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2220/...a3cf0b2f_o.jpg

Finish off the Corvette letters in red.
The flash pics don't help the look so get it out into the sun for a week and I think you will like it better.
You can always change it later.

I like it. The OE brembos on some cars (Infiniti, for instance) are gold and look good on those cars, too. As long as you don't have a hangup from the fact that it's a "furrin' cur".
I don't think it's commonly acceptable to wear gold and silver jewelry together. What's that mean?!? Dunno, probably a poor analogy but I think the gold clashes with the silver wheels and rotors.
Of course I never liked the premium gold kits that people opted for on their vehicles in the 80s and early 90s. The badges were all gold but all the trim was silver. Just never looked right to me.
I didn't think I would like it when I read the title, but I have to say that it looks good. I think red letters would be good...then live with it for a while...see how it grows on you. Red would be the other choice..as they really won't look much different in black than they do unpainted. Nice original thought...never seen gold on here before!

Just my humble opinion...
My first wedding ring had gold and silver in it together. It's not the norm but I really liked it.
