This weekend I installed a set of GCA splash guards on my buddy's '09 Black vert he got from Gene Culley.
For all that are thinking about doing this mod, let me tell you it is a piece of cake. On a scale of 1 to 10, ten being the most difficult, this is a two (2). The install took about 40 minutes. They look perfect on the car. Being black they become almost invisible unless you know that they are there. The C-6 should have come with these installed from BG.
Just finished installing mine last night (did the fronts over the weekend, then couldn't get my jack under the car to finish the rears, so I had to buy a new jack). I like them because they are so subtle on the car (VR) and they just look "right".
I agree....only ones available for C6 fenders that look like they were designed to be there.
I had to walk away from the computer last night after seeing some other "splash guards" advertised here...I had absolutely nothing good to say and wanted to tell the OP how ugly they were...but I refrained.
As you said...these look like they were made for the car...maybe because they were?
Yeah I just removed those splash guards and chucked em in the trash. Just getting some time to install the GM ones I just got from Gene. OBTW thanks Gene.
I installed mine over the weekend and am very pleased with them too. I am not the kind of guy to put badges or extra chrome do-dads on the car, so the splash guards had to look right - and they do. I didn't get them for "splash" protection, but to prevent unsightly rock chips around the wheel wells.
I installed mine when the temperature was hovering in the low 60s, which is on the low end of the recommended temperature range for installation. That might be why the tape on the rear guards did not hold well at first. I added some extra 3M double-sided tape and they're holding on well now.
I picked up the 21/64" drill bit at Sears since I couldn't find it at Home Depot.

Same here. I couldn't find the 21/64" at my local Lowes. Sears had it.
The best advice I received on the install...
Make sure the guard is exactly where you want it before pealing the tape backing off.
