I dropped a portable GPS last year and broke the screen. I sent it back to the manufacturer and they replaced the screen for $100 (GPS was $300 new at that time). I bet the OEM manufacturer can fix this for you if you give them a call and are willing to pay for the repair. Only way to know is to call them.
Depending on how the screen cracked, maybe GM will replace it if it is under warranty.
The screen alone is not available as a separate part from GM. Denso is the name of the company that builds the NAV units if you want to see what, if anything, they'll do for you. I'm guessing the're going to tell you to get it serviced through your Chevy dealer.
1) Chevy doesn't do component level repair of radios. They simply exchange the radios.
2) Denso won't deal with you on individual replacement parts.
3) Denso doesn't make the touchscreen.
The touchscreen is probably made by Samsung, the world's largest LCD screen manufacturer. Samsung does sell replacement parts. So, if you can find the appropriate manufacturer's part number for the broken screen component, you can likely get a new one from them. But if it is actually the plastic housing that's broken, well you're screwed, that's only available from Denso, and they won't sell it to you.
How hard/easy is it to fix a cracked Navigation touch screen? Is it possible without buying a lot of expensive parts from the dealer to replace it ?
Or you could buy one that has loading issues but has a good display and then put the good display on your unit. I think I know where there is such a unit and it can be bought for $250. The display works fine but just about every time a disk is loaded it gets stuck.
