Those that have the heated seats know that you have a choice of high or low, but both the butt and back are always on. Both my 03 Suburban and wife's 04 Avalanche have the ability to put it on either back only or back and butt. Personally, I have back issues at times so use my back only all the time in the Suburban, even during the summers. Unless it is really cold, I don't really like or use the butt option. Has anyone ever tried to modify the C6 seat heater to be a butt vs back option? Any input would be nice before I consider this.
I have same thing in my Hoe. However to make modification to the Vette might be troublesome. First thing that comes to my mind is a electrical problem with fire. Being in the Fire Service for quite a while it wouldnt be the first time I saw a heated seat be the root of an interior fire. Be careful with this if you choose to do it. End results may not be what you were looking for.
I'm guessing the heating elements are wired in parallel, so if you can get to the wiring of both heating elements without difficulty (seems unlikely without taking the seats out) and you know your soldering, and you ensure your wiring and components (and soldering) are rated for the load, then it strikes me as an easy mod to make a switch to select back/bottom/both. A heavy-duty relay instead of a switch might be a better approach, as that way you could use regular (light-duty) wires and switch for the controls rather than the heavy duty stuff that would be a pain to route anywhere, and needs more caution as regards potential wear and tear on insulation etc.
(If the elements are wired in series, it could be much trickier, but I doubt they are.
And of course, there are airbags in the seats on 2/3/4LT)

Well why the hell don't they make it the way I want. They had it right in the 03-04 SUV's. They need to get with me first before they change things. Damn engineers............
