1. put car in comp mode.
2. hold down clutch. push throttle to floor and leave it there. car will rev to certain limit(not redline).
3. drop clutch and leave accelerator on floor.
4. car will deliver power smoothly with no drama.
The new CTS-V, cobalt ss and gt500 all use this type of launch control. The corvette should have had it in atleast 2007.

Team Corvette has not made it such a big deal like other manufactures but the ZR1 has a built in launch control mode when set in competition. combination of computer control wheel spin and unequal diameter drivshafts to prevent wheel hop. I wouldnt be suprised if all C6 models will have it for '10

Is this true with an 2008 z06? I've always wondered why there wasn't a launch control type system but possibly there is? I don't want to go redline my car and find out so could someone tell me?

According to the Bash Notes Power Point I just saw all 2010 manual transmission Corvettes will have launch control.
Yes, launch control is official and it is awesome! Basic funtion is activate launch control and floor the throttle, the system brings the RPM to just around 4,000 and you dump the clutch. The traction control system will moderate the throttle keeping wheel spin just ahead of forward speed. It allows for a near perfect launch, every time.
By the way, if you think that launch control is something, yoiu should see the PTM system for road course handling on the ZR1. Same idea as launch control in terms of control strategy but it works with Active Handling and traction control for acceleration out of a turn (ability to apply full trottle coming out of a corner) and the car will keep optimum angle and acceleration to dig out of the corner and get down the straight.
