Default Desperately need help!!!

Hi everyone, thank you for taking the time to read about this awful situation and any help you may provide/suggest.

I need your hints and tips on a fairly large project I have to do tomorrow.

On the way to the gym a few weeks ago I had a premade protein shake in the Vette. As I was driving it to gym I had not noticed that the shake had spilled and the whole contents of the shake had gone into my passenger seat and beneath. The Vette is not my daily driver so easily go few weeks between drives

The shake had gotten beneath the carpet via the opening in the rails.

I have tried to no success in cleaning this without removing the carpet but it can't be done.

I need to know any hints, tips, suggestions of how to fully remove passenger side interior so I can very much clean the padding below the carpet as well clean up all the dried up stinky protein shake below the carpet.

The odor is absolutely gagging and if anyone reading this us near the CT area and would be willing to assist me (compensated of course) I would very much appreciate it.

If anyone knows any links hints tips etc please let me know.

Thank you all!!

The seat is on with about 4 bolts. Then make sure you disconnect all the connectors for the wires under there. The rug is just laying there.

Seats and console have to be removed. If you are a bit of a wrencher you can do this. Search this forum for seat removal and console removal.
Good luck.

If you're going to remove the seats and carpet you might as well insulate while you're down there. The insulation itself is cheap.

Was there any dairy in the shake?

If the carpet is the type that has the padding material attached to the back, you are going to have a job ahead of you. The material I'm thinking of would have wicked that drink up like a sponge, and it will be difficult to get it out, especially the smell if the shake had milk in it. Not to mention the foam in the seat.

Insulation? Hhmm so your saying may prove future benefit so do it while I'm in there? What would the insulation be for?

Noise. Do a search and you'll find the vendor. From what I'm told, your cockpit will be so quiet you'll think you're in a Caddy.

You can lookup Crazy Cowboy on these forums. He has an insulation kit that he sells to quite down and reduce temperatures. This kit requires the carpeting be removed. You may be able to get the info that he provides to help you understand how everything can be removed so that the carpet can be taken out.

Heck, if you are going to do that, you may as well order the kit (under 200) and do the insulation while you are at it.

I guarantee this stuff will take out any stain on carpet that you can think of. Now it will help the odor but I don't know to what extent. I used a whole can on a car I inherited. It had old dirt, grease, coffee stains, etc. all over the carpet. EVERY single bit came out and helped the smell of the car to boot. Good luck!!!! Sounds like a nasty chore to me.

You can probably use one of those portable steam vacs. that are sold in stores. They work on my carpeting in the house very well. Cleans and sanitizes at the same time. I have used it in my vehicles in the past.

or you can just pour water in all the affected areas and use "SHAM-WOW" j/k

Sham-Wow.

A carpet cleaner with an attachment to get into smaller places may work. Use some cleaner that will also neutralize odors under the carpet. Good luck.

rdm1465, I swear I didn't read your post first. Great minds...you know...think alike.

Your local professional detailer will have it clean and smelling great in no time.

Don't ask me how I know but it involves a cat, cat pee and a now ex-wife. Thankfully it was not in my vette.

You learn a lot about your car too.

You may want to look into getting a replacement carpet set for the passenger side.

Go to www.exoticvette.com where you will find insulation kit sales and full instructions on how to remove seats and carpeting. His instructions are complete and thorough.
