I and looking for education I am sure is on this forum from someone. I have a 2006 coupe with A6. I would like to install a set of GM NPP mufflers on it. It seems that I have read that the stock NPP system from a 2008 model would fit the 2006's, but that the ones from 2009 were different. Could someone confirm/deny this and offer the GM part numbers for the units which would fit my 2006. I understand that I will have to also install the control system. Thanks in advance.

This is correct. The exhaust hangars for the '08 and '09 are different. I have an '09 and could not buy a used exhaust because of this problem. As far as part numbers for the GM products, I think Gene Culley or Bob Fichtner here on the forum can help with that or someone else who may know. I did the fusions and I have an '09, neither of which will help you out as far as part #s.
You will have to install a "retro-kit" to accomodate the vacuum requirement to close the flaps. It is not that hard to install.
Have fun w/it!
They are a also forum vendor and very good to deal with.
And while you are at it, also order the Mild2Wild controller from NakidParts. Being able to open or close the NPP whenever you want is GREAT! It was the first thing I did on my 08!

Part numbers are 15879288 and 15879289 for the NPP. I can beat most of the other GM vendors prices hands down. A quick search shows those parts sell for $723.75 from one vendor and $699.42 from the other. My price is $656.00 plus shipping each.
We are a GM dealer and sell only factory GM parts at a significant discount for all forum members. My shipping prices are generally lower as well.
I would contact forum vendor SunsetOrangeCreations to order the NPP controller. His unit has cool new functions and he is a great guy to deal with. I work with him on parts all the time.
