holy smoke you bought a 08 z for 48k? That's a killer deal. I would have bought one for 60k. What state are you in? California dealers are a joke. Most when you ask them the price, they state the MSRP hoping they get someone off guard for that price.

So was it your trade + 18k?? or your trade + 48k because that is what it sounds like.

No it was my car AND 48 that why I was so mad. That was the best deal I could get, 4 other dealers only wanted to give me 28 for my vette. They all acted like I was trying to steal their first born. But I wanted the ZO6 that bad. I live in Calif. I knew where all the ZO6's were from here to Orgeon,I spent three night's until the wee hours looking at people's inventory. It turned out most of the ZO6's that I wanted were in SoCal. But none of them were willing to do serious dealing even though their lots were full to overflowing with cars. It CAUSE." IT'S A VETTE AND WORSE IT'S A ZO6"

Some dealers believe (and are sometimes right) that someone will come in and pay that price. During the good economic times I wouldn't be surprised if they made a killing. If anything a Z06 lures buyers into the showroom and makes good advertising.

GM should just reduce the MSRP to what people are actually paying and then keep it about 3-5% above invoice. Dealers are always looking out for that big kill and that makes smart buyers go with another manufacturer. It looks like with the Camaro they are selling for MSRP but MSRP is only 5% or so above invoice. They are selling them like crazy. It seems like once a car breaks the $50k sticker barrier it is in a different league with a lot of customers. Would you go out and pay $75k for an Escalade now?

So the z06 cost you 78k? (30k+48k). If so, then that isn't even a good deal. That's pretty much the MSRP. Even thought you get the 0% financing, your 08 has depreciated faster than the 8k you are saving with the 0%. If you do a kelly blue book on a used 08 with 10 miles and all the options and the car is valued at 58k. If I were you I would have just bought a new load 09z instead if you are going to pay 78k for a 08.

A 2008 is now a 2 year old car. I would try for 18 grand off the car's msrp. Even if it is new, it is only new before you sign the papers, then your new car is a 2 year old car.

I know,it's the old should have and could have. The truth is on the 09 it would have been more than the 08,naturally and they would have offered even less for my convert. So it was take the 08 and get a better deal on the trade in or the 09 and pay even more. Even at that they still felt I was stealing their first born. So if your looking for a new 08 be perpared, cause they ain't dealing.
