newbie question
reason I say that is my wife had a BRAND new 2000 Lexus for 2 weeks.. and some old lady crossed the center line and hit my wife head on..
The car had $13,700 damage and the ins company would only fix it... bottom line I took it to one of the BEST body shops in Westchester.. it was gone for 2 months.. the frame was bent etc...
when we finally got it back I was intent on selling it .. figured it would never be right after taking a hit like that.. well I was wrong..She kept it until 2007 & we never had a squeak or any problem with it..
Maybe we were lucky.. but when we traded it in we got $4000 less for it because of the accident.. (airbag deployment)
The funny thing is I KNEW how badly it was damaged & by looking at it I would not have known... then I'm NOT a body man...
I'm sure if you car comes out clean on the vin check it should be ok but I'd still have someone who is VERY familiar with Corvettes check it over.. your spending 30,000 so just be careful..

I compare it to a house inspection when buying a house...sort of cheap insurance that may keep you from getting into major problems with the purchase, so don't skimp.
Good luck with finding a great Vette!
