When this hapened to me I had to spray some lube up in the hatch lock and kinda of work the key back and forth gently to get it to work.

The AAA guy recommended doing that from time to time...

I have a charger connection and that will also serve as a way to get in the car when the battery goes dead.

This happened to me yesterday except I don't even HAVE a hatch key. I used a tool to pry the door glass open about a half inch and fabricated a tool to reach in and pop the manual door latch. This won't happen to me again!

I have a charger connection too, but its sitting on top of the battery Guess I should fish it down the fender so I can get at it if needed.

You might want to try this method to open the hatch.

Hook up a battery charger to the positive lead on the starter and the negative lead to the block. You can reach these from under the car.

This should give enough power to unlock the door with the Fob.

If you don't connect a battery tender to your car when you leave for an extended period, you may want to leave your drivers side window down.

Run it through the gill vent on the side of the car.

The same thing happened to my friends father with his 07 Z06 when he got it. He was down in RI on his boat for the weekend, came back and the battery was dead for some reason. He called his son (my friend) and we were telling him to put the key in the back.

He said I tried that it won't turn. We were thinking oh it just stuck give it a good turn. My friend had tried a key at his house and it worked. he never did get it to open so my friend drove down and tossed a charger on the car.

When they got home they realized what the problem was. The dealership had given them keys to 2 different Corvettes. Since they key is hardly ever used they never knew. The key my friend tried was correct but the key his father had on that day was the wrong one.

Just thought id share
