Reverse to drive issue?

Reverse to drive issue?
I back out of the driveway and into the street, when I put the car in drive there is a several second delay before I feel it kick in. Is this normal? It is an 08 auto. Thanks for the help.

Short answer is....No....especially if there is truly a "several second delay". Check trans fluid level....if low, that could be cause of problem but more critical is fact that you're losing fluid somewhere/somehow. May be time for a visit to the dealer.

Okay, I'm going to refer you for a little reading. It may be more than you want to read but AT LEAST read through post #27. Post 27 has a copy of a TSB on the A6 that isn't well known. Pay close attention to the 2nd heading, "Recommendation/Instructions:". Your symptom is described in the first indented paragraph:
