Whether or not you get the sales tax refund is a matter of state law where you live. There is no debate about if it's paid or not.

 

Well here's the latest. For all those out there that responded accept my thanks for all the info, opinions and good wishes. I am using MY insurance company even though the other parties carrier assumed fault. My request to my adjuster is being reviewed and they should be contacting me tomorrow. The difference between what they offered and what I figured is only 3900 bucks. We shall see what comes of it. I was really down in that I can't replace the exact car with a used 08 in the same configuration as ours as I have not found one within 500 miles of us. There is not even a 09 in the NATION equipped like ours (per Tim at Boardwalk) Speaking of which - Support our forum Dealers!! Tim is absolutely great. He took the time to listen to me whine and get really confused over the choices and costs which skyrocketed as I added stuff After coming to terms with this whole thing he gave me one hell of a deal. a new 09 not quite what I wanted but the price he has quoted I just can't pass up. This has been an experience and you just got to chalk it up to the old saying - It is what it is! Picking the new vette up the 30th and driving it home. So starts another adventure.
