Do you have to be an OnStar subscriber in order to have factory bluetooth in a navigation equipped car? I see no reference to blue tooth in either the owners manual or nav manual.

Bluetooth only became available on the 2009. Prior to 2009, you would need to add an adapter such as the Parrot device or new Nav unit with bluetooth.
Bluetooth is in addition to the Onstar handsfree phone, and an Onstar subscription is not required.
