kinda critical info. if you say 12K miles per year, figure a few oil changes, a few oil filters, new tires every 1.5 to three years depending on how you drive the car (they're not cheap, but you can go "inexpensive," if you wish), maybe some service here and there of a very limited nature, a new cabin air filter per year (or not, as you wish), and that's about it.
wash, polish, special towels, and all the other "stuff" is optional---you can leave it a dirty mess for 365 days and pay nothing for "beauty treatments" (but we'll shun you ).
Besides maintenance cost, you might want to consider wear items, depending on how many miles you drive. The biggest issue is with the tires. The Supercar tires that the Z51 package comes with are very grippy track optimized tires. They have a very low wear rating. Most forum members get about 15k miles on them - although many have had to replace them at 10k. (I have 18k on mine, and they're just hitting the wear bars).
Tires for the Vette will set you back anywhere from $1100 (Firestone Wide Oval) to $1600 (Goodyear Supercars or Micheline SP), if you want to stay with runflats.
It really is pretty cheap considering maint costs for other cars in its performance/price range. No $250 oil changes if that is what you are asking. Besides the tires and syn oil it is just like a Malibu and cheaper than the GM trucks.
Oil & Filter - I do it myself $25.00. So far on the 2000 C-5 (bought new), I probably change the oil 8 times, so that would be $200 over the course of 9 years. Car has 23k miles.
If you get a Z51 and drive it daily, figure about $1400 a year for the Goodyear "supercar" tires. These tires are very soft and wear out fast. A total waste unless you race. But you can say the same thing about the Z51 option too.
I've had my 05 c6 z51 m6 for a little over a year now. So far excluding gas, I've spent about $70 on oil and filters. Also, about $50.00 on wax and cleaners.
After all said and done "Worth every penny"
If you want to get some data for comparison, go to Edmunds.com and check out the cost of maintenance on whatever cars flip your switch. The information is all there. Open a specific car, new or used and look at the information options in the left hand column. If you have a memory like mine, a pencil and paper might help unless you are a rapid copy and paster. Happy hunting.
I am interested in purchasing a c6 as a daily driver.
Im interested in the z51 suspension package, but its not a deal breaker
All said and done exluding insure, whats the maintance cost per a year (ballpark)?
Your big maintenance cost is going to be those Z51 tires. They wear very quickly, and cost a lot. If you avoid the Z51 option, you'll get the GS2 tires instead. I got 46,000 miles out of my first set of GS2s. Much better tire life, and the GS2s work better in the wet and cold than the SC tires on the Z51 package too. The only thing of any use in the Z51 package is the swaybars. You can buy them separately for under $200. The base suspension car has better brakes, with solid rotors that don't crack. Like the Z51 package, the base package's shocks suck. You'll want to add a set of Bilsteins ($300).
