Default additional warranty?

I am in the final steps of buying a z and the dealership is offering me additional warranties for my new car. The warranty covers the vehicle bumper to bumper/ roof to road, and specifically tells you we will cover wear and tear. The maintenance program covers all the oil changes, filters, and chassis lubrications on the vehicle.

I am not sure if I can post the website he gave me to view the details.
but my question is if I only drive the car lets say 5K per year do I need it or not.

hope someone can help me.

thanks

If they are trying to sell you a true "bumper-to-bumper" warranty including wear & tear, I would be very cautious. The cost will either be outrageous, or they are not telling you the truth. Even the new car warranty doesn't cover wear & tear. I think this would fall into the too good to be true category.

At 5K miles per year the maintenance program will be a money loser. The time element of the contract will run out long before you get enough service to break even on the cost.

You didn't say what year car you are getting. If it is a brand new, never titled car. The extended warranty purchase can wait. Includes wear and tear? I really doubt it.

As far as the maintenance program, Based on what you said, doesn't make sence, but, if you plan on driving the car with mileage, it actually is a good deal. But, then again, depends on the selling price of that policy.

They have several companies that offer bumper to bumper warranties at chevy dealerships, HOWEVER, NONE offer it for the corvette. Read the fine print. Companies know how much vette tires cost vs colbalt's.

Congrats on the new C6. You can always get an extended warranty before the factory warranty expires.
