I took a Z06 out for a test drive Tuesday night, sales guy called me the next day and said someone stole it off the lot! I was the last driver and sales guy pulled the fuse before we left the lot. I think the dealer closed shortly after I left...what a sad story...I was interested in the vehicle so now he is looking for another...

I'm somewhat of a layman about the electronics, but how would one steal a Vette without a remote? Perhaps, having a 3rd remote and programming it while having the vehicle on the test drive???
But, I thought the remotes could not be ordered unless providing proof of ownership....VIN???
[I agree!!!QUOTE=RogerC6;1570166121]Sounds like either another salesman sold it, or he did to another buyer that paid more than you offered, is the only explanation I can think of....JMO[/QUOTE]
No salesman didnt sell it as he and I have a good relationship. I know the owner of the dealership as well, so no it wasn't an inside job that I know of... all the vettes are inside now

Any of you techno wizz's???
Anyone can buy any fob on Ebay. All you need is one good fob and access to the car for about 10 minutes to program an extra fob to it (it can take up to 4).
Keys are a little bit harder to come by as you need theoretically need the VIN and a proof of ownership.
