Default how long until prices....?

I'm curious with of everyones thoughts when they think the C6's will drop to the $20k mark or $22K. I see many cars now with good mileage between 26-28.

I'm talking about cars that are very well kept and will have less than 40k miles at the time being. I'm thinking the time will be different between the LS2's and LS3's. I see the LS2 coming much faster because the availability to pick up the extra HP so easily with the LS3. I wouldn't mind the LS2 because the only mods i'm really interested in is full exhaust, intake and tune... 400hp is damn good already. I could always cam it down the road too...

I really want a black on black w/ the 6spd, but am stationed in Okinawa for a few years. My price range is going to cap out around 20, simply because buying a house is much more important to me.

Thanks for the insight, I'm a stang guy at heart, but I don't think you can beat the power/quality/performance of these cars for the buck.

Well, the unemployment is not suppose to improve until mid 2010 which is a big factor in car prices rising again. So you have a 1 year margin and remember that will be another year gone and price for that year will go down again 5%-10% more.

Then in 2011; the new C7 is suppose to arrive in the marketplace too!

So that how I see it! I cannot resist trying to get a good deal now too; but it tough going a my local corvette dealers; they still have not been beaten down yet so they like to still fight on the price and play their games.

I may go online to buy my 2010 but I try to get it locally first!

Welcome to the forum. I think it may still be more than a year to two before you see prices of even '05's at 20k.

Regarding the C7 in 2011, don't hold your breath.

Don't think you will see a nice, well kept, low mileage C6 in the 20K range for at least 2 more years. I agree that the C7 is a long ways off from hitting showroom floors.

Vetts are about as low as they can go. The next move should be up but when?

There is also something to the saying you get what you pay for! Many of the 05's and 06's are already paid off so OP's are going to be reluctant to simply give their cars away if it's a nice unit...

I don't think the low mileage, exc. conditioned C6's will go lower than $25K ever. Only time will tell.

For $20K I think you will have to stick to a C5 or a Mustang.

So you found a dealer to sell you a new car at an $8K+ loss. That's a pretty sweet deal, just not very believable.

The only Corvettes that every drop to $20k are the ones that almost nobody wants or the ones that are outdated. So, you won't get a C6 for $20k anytime soon unless it's a high mileage / poor condition car.

I'm sure he meant MSRP.....depending on equipment 10-12 off is not that hard to get nowadays...

A good 05 coup today is about 28K. $31 on Dealer lot and $24 trade-in

As long as the HP remains about the same I think in the next 2 years you will be able to find an 05 in your range. But if GM fails or politics force HP levels down to reduce fuel consumption prices may not drop.

Boy, is that ever true! With all the problems, I would expect that development of the C7 would be about the least important thing on GM's plate

With the rapid depreciation we've seen over the past couple of years with our cars, I think things are going to level out soon. However, if the C7 arrives, the C6 prices will drop dramatically, but that probably won't happen until at least 2013.

Sounds like you've got your priorities straight.

It'll be years before you find a decent C6 at $20k. So buy your house first. No rush... real estate doesn't look to recover soon.

If your Vette would be a weekend 2nd car, consider an 03/04 C5. Prices seem to have bottomed. Plenty of good ones within your budget.
