Dealer tossed my CAGS-beater fuse thingy
About a month into my '06 Vette ownership experience I've had the following issues:
Horn no workie, telescoping steering ditto, out of alignment front end, and a few other minor things that really should have been taken care of before it was placed on the lot.
I noticed these things the day after purchasing the car, and to their credit, the dealer fixed all items at no cost to me.
Only bummer is that the other dealer my dealer sent the car to to fix the telescoping steering issue found an issue with my CAGS skip-shift-buster fuse thingy and tossed it. They thought it was a blown fuse I guess. The issue was discovered when the hooked my baby to their computer thingy. I forget what code they said came up, my paperwork is at home.
So now what should I do? Just get another one and remember to pull it when I take it in for service, or is there a better option? I don't want to see any codes flashing up on my Driver Info Center and I don't want to have to take it back to the dealer again, they've had it almost as much as I have since I got it.
Any suggestions?
Thanks,
TomZ

HMMMNNNNNNN...You know I bought a bunch of stuff for my car when I ordered it and one of them was the CAGS eliminator. I never put it on my car as I found it (CAGS) almost never came on and got in my way. Eliminator still in the plastic wrapper laying around somewhere.

Either get another one and then take it out when you go into the dealer with an electrical problem....or just get a CAGS eliminator and install it back at the trans. I did the latter.

So the blown fuse CAGS defeat throws a code ?
my advice, bite your lip , spend $20.00 for a quick 20 minute job including raising the car on a stand and get the real CAGS kit. It does not throw codes.
Southern car Parts has that ( look him up on the vendor list on the main page ), and Jim is good to deal with from order to delivery
