35mpg by 2012?

Did I hear obongo right? Is there now new legislation in the works that all US cars have to get 35mpg by 2012?

Did he ramp up the initial legilation? I thought that it was supposed to be 35mpg's by something like 2025?

If it is now 2012, do you now think that the C6 will be the most powerful corvette ever built and hold that title until some hydrogen powered C10 comes out?
