I have 5.0 in my 2005 nav and it works fine.

I bought the western region disc from a guy on the east coast that only used the eastern region disc, so that might be a thought for you.

Look on the C6 parts section.

The 5.0 version I got only has 1 disk with both regions.
Also if you recently purchased a 07 or 08 you are entitled to a free upgrade, that's how I got mine.

You can but don't pay more than the $199 for it. I have heard of some ridiculous prices from dealers. You can order direct from www.GMNAVDisc.com

Version 5.0 is two discs. Each of the two has street maps for the entire country, but the eastern disc has POIs for the east and the western disc has them for the west. Unless you really notice things that are missing, I wouldn't spend alot for the new version...the biggest difference is in the number of POIs...which are really just advertising.

Just to set the record straight, it was the '06 and '07 models that got two free updates and that program ended a few months ago.

My '07 was purchased in 2006 and I received notice that I had 'til the end of '08. I forgot about the guys that bought the '07 model in '07.
