But, one thing that caught my eye was that there are interior vacuum escape type valves under each rear fender corner, just in front of the rear bumper. It's a small box with rubber flaps that let's the vacuum escape so you can easily close the doors and trunk without having the complicated window mechanisms like our C6 Vettes.
My MINI Cooper had those rubber flaps as well. Not only for doors, but for the use of airbags in an accident. Lets the pressure escape from a sealed up car. Also helps the passengers eardrums when they are sitting inside, and you slam the hatch.

I went from a 2005 WRX to 09 c6. The WRX is a good car but unlike the STI it can't take much power because the stock WRX transmission is known to be made of glass if you add more power to it, the STI transmission can take a lot of punishment however both have very short gears and on a long straight it will run out way before the corvette. Also the car was pretty much worthless below 3k rpm the actually power band is very small about 3-5.5k. Also neither poses any threat to a corvette unless serious modification is done as in new turbos, catback, etc which gets pricey, if you where to invest that in just bolt ons for the corvette it is no contest.
Yes they are my son has a Limited WRX STI Turbo back exhaust, cold air intake and a cobb tune c6 are no problem at the drag strip Cecil County MD. Now the AWD is a plus Dont know what he would do on a roll we never have and never will street rce After he puts a hole shot on the c6 they really dont seem to gain on him so Im assuming he would do ok on a roll
That car would get drug by a stock C6 from a roll at the speed described. It took an aftermarket turbo upgrade on one to pull my basic bolt-on 6 speed LS1 from a roll (closed course).

I wonder why GM could not figure this cheap effective method out, instead of having the complicated, and I'm sure costly setup that they came up with?
The C6 does have a vent (pressure relief valve), It's under the trim on the front of the RH rear wheelhouse. PRV's are used for air conditioning flow, and positive cabin pressure (so carbon dioxide doesn't get in). It's hidden because it traps the road noise from the tires. (not like the C5)
A small vent will not help the hatch, it takes an open door or windows down an inch to get the hatch to close right. that would be a big noisy vent
The WRX sti would make a decent daily driver, but the EVO 10 would be a better choice...Both would have to loose the air plane wing
Though the EVO X's spoiler is a good bit more normal compared to how the EVO IX's was, especially since the IX was such a plain looking car with a giant spoiler on back.
