I'm on my third Corvette right now ('05 VR vert) and I am not in the market for another right now but I had a little free time after dropping my wife off to shop with our daughter-in-law. I saw an '07 VY vert for sale at a Cadillac dealer I passed, so I stopped just to see it and find out the asking price. The car had 35k miles on it and had obviously been someone's DD. They were asking over $41,000 for it. One thing that caught my eye was the black exhaust tips which I did not like at all. They looked as bad as the early C5 black tips. I had never before seen black tips on a C6. I don't know whether the previous owner spray painted them black or they could have been some after-market version.

After I left that dealer I continued on my way to run a couple of errands and as passed a Chevy dealer I decided to stop in to see the new Camaro in person, so I did. I talked with a very nice sales lady (5 yrs on job) and told her right up front that I merely wanted to see what the new Camaro looked like since I have always loved the Camaro as my wife's first car after college was a brand new 1967 Camaro. Boy, do we wish we still had that one. There were two new 2009 Corvettes sitting right by the Camaro so naturally we talked about them also.
First, she had never heard of Corvette Forum, and second, she had no idea what an NPP exhaust system was. Neither of the Corvettes were NPP cars. Quite frankly, I was shocked that she had no knowledge of the NPP exhaust. I suggested she join Corvette forum so she could learn more about the cars she sells. She talked like she would do so.

A question I have about the '09's is: do they come standard with the race mesh grills in front and on the sides as I noticed them on the '09 Corvette in the showroom? I knew they were available as GM aftermarket accessories but did not know the Vettes came with them already installed. I did not take the time to look at the details of the window sticker.

I have an 09, no grills on mine. Guess those were added at the dealership.

 

Saying you went looking for a Corvette is like saying you went out to the bars looking for girls.... nobody cares unless you bring one home.

The mesh grills are not standard. The can be ordered as GCA item in a package, but even then they are dealer installed.

 

Sanford, the grille's are not standard. The dealer may have added the GCA accessory grille kit to the car. Is this one for Peggy or for you?

 

Mine came with the car. It was on the lot with them installed already and I never paid for them either. Not on the invoice or on the window sticker... Came with the front grill, side vent screens and the exhaust screen too...
