thermostat question

Default thermostat question

i have a 06 vert with 4000mi. have vmax ported throttle body;callaway honker;over the axel (only ) magnaflo exhaust. should i go to a 160 or 180 thermostat ?

Unless you are adding a supercharger and/or H/C swap with tuning, the stock thermostat is all you need.

A 160* stat will allow you to run a little more timing, lower under hood temps, lower intake temps. All major performance engine builders use and specify them. It's a small performance gain, but it is a gain. I've used them for over 35 years, no reason not to unless you live at the north pole.........

I think the fans are not programed to start until in the 180's, so you will not notice much in the city, but once on the highway it should stay a little cooler.
