Unfortunately I cannot afford a brand new Corvette right now. I am buying a nice used corvette. I'm sure a lot of you have seen my posts looking for a DSOM coupe. I honestly haven't really been looking all that long. Maybe 3 weeks. It got me thinking though. For me I don't think its a matter of price, as much as trying to find a nice dsom z51 6sp manual isn't all that easy when your sticking too 06's. I think I will give it till September or October. If i still haven't found something by then I might start looking at Lemans Blue, Black, or even Atomic although I don't like atomic as much as sunset.
How long did it take you to find your used corvette?

Took me about 6 months - my issues were the right equipment, low miles, lighlty used, and well maintained with no mods. Got my '06 last year for 32K. Gotta think that you should find a nice one for high 20s come this fall. Be patient, and wait until the 2010s are out, the 06 prices will drop further then. For my money, mine is good as new at half the price.

It took me about 3 months once I really started looking. And I found it right here in the for sale section. Don't get impatient, the right one will pop up. I was originally looking for only black but then I opened up to other colors. It was more important to me to find a quality low mileage car. And I never realized how freakin awesome millennium yellow really is!
If I may share my story, I wasn't really looking. God took me right to this car, even making sure I had the money to pay for it. I didn't realize deep down in my heart how much I wanted this car. I was looking for a cheap, used commuter. My advice, pray and seek His will. What father gives you a snake when you ask for a fish?
I think I should be able to find one in a few months. Right now there doesn't seem to be many 06 dsom cars around. I keep an eye here, the obvious auto websites, craigslists and things like that. I know one guy who frequently goes to the auction and i told him to keep an eye out.
Right now on auto trader, besides Z06's there is one sunset orange car at bill stasek chevy or whatever in IL. Its about 1000 miles away. Not to bad, talked to a salesman on it for about 45 minutes or so. Nice guy but after adding in the fees they are looking for $36K.
keep looking; if it's the color you want, find the right one. it wasn't a high production number so that might be complicating your search. but you'll find one.
DSOM will take a little longer due to the lower production. It may take a day and up to a year. It all depends on how picky you are and how far you are willing to go...................Joe.
P.S. Stick to your guns and don't settle for a second color. Which ever car you saw and said " I gotta have that" That's the one for you.
I had the same drive and determination looking for LeMans Blue.I saw my first one at Bloomington Gold for sale. Seller backed out and found one a week later.
that car was sold about a week and a half ago and the new owner picked it up. If there were no engine mods done I woulda been a little more interested in the car. I'd rather stay away from something someone else modified whether it was done right or not.
Conv. or coupe? Here's a couple I found for you. Not sure what exactly you're looking for or what options these have but I figured if any interest you, you can call for yourself. Good luck with your search. http://www.cars.com/go/search/compar...0&aff=national

You might want to give Tommy Jr a call @ MacMulkin Chevrolet. He usually has a decent selection of new & used. Or he may be able to point you in the right direction.
