Default HELP ! Door panel and trim disassembly hell.

What's with those horrible metal up side down nut thingies? I had hell getting them off.

Question 1.
When I go to put the doors back together, what kind of nut or other option do I have instead of these? I don't see how these would go back on. It's like they are compressed and they dont have any thread and the screws are plastic. What's with all this plastic?????
There has got to be a better way and why did GM use these?
I can't believe how long this took me. I'm pretty PO.

Question 2
How do I disconnect the door control switches from their housings? I've been trying to use a flat head screw driver and I swear, I still haven't been able to get them disconnected.

Qestion 3.
How do I get the two clips holding the trim ring in place on the underside of the shifter ? I got the rivets out but I'm stuck on what to do about these clips.
I can't get them to budge.

Are there any pictured tutorials on the complete removal of the door trim pieces ? I could have probably saved myself hours if there is.
Someone, please help.
Thanks.
Sherry

Thats the place where I got the instruction for the door panel and handle removal.

I've gone further however and I'm taking the trim pieces off as well. I can't firue out how to disconnect all the plugs and I'm going crazy trying to get the window control box out of the housing that it sits into.

Any suggestions or better yet any photos showing how to disconnect these things?
Thanks.

When I took mine off to install insulation in the doors, there were only a couple of screws and everything else was a "snap in place" type of stuff. To reinstall, I remember I had to start high up on the window, push relatively hard against the window, and slide the panel downward pushing until all the snaps took hold. Take your time, it can be done.

Wish all I had to do was remove the panel but unfortunately, I'm taking all the trim pieces off and it has not been easy , especially those stupid backwards metal nuts.
If it weren't for those, I wouldn't be nearly as aggrivated with the whole process. The connecter housings and tabs removal is also testing my patiance.
I really need to get these taken apart. I do hope someone can point me towards a tutorial with photos.

Please someone, how to I disconnect ther driver door window and lock controls?

How do I get the keyhole lock portion on the lock disassembled from the panel?

How do I unattache the liftup lever on the console. The piece that has the tiny spring attached.

Once I have these few things done, the interior will be ready to ship. I have to get this out today.

I need some answers pretty quick to get this done.
Thanks.
