Vacuum Switch
I need a vacuum switch to control my NPP mufflers but can't seem to find one. I am installing a Kenwood DNX8120 which has the ability to control external components by hitting a button on the screen. A guy wrote a tutorial on this where he controls the factory NPP exhaust on his 08 Z06. http://www.dfwcorvettes.com/DNX8120Install.asp My car is an 06 so the NPP mufflers are an add-on.
I want to simply pull vacuum from the intake manifold and run it to the NPP mufflers, but somewhere in that line, put a vacuum switch which can be controlled by the signal put out by the Kenwood DNX unit. I know the DNX unit can be configured to send out a constant signal, however I don't know (yet, I haven't gotten a chance to hook it up yet) what the voltage or current of the DNX output is. I would assume it's a low current, 6V or 12 V signal.
Does anybody know of a part that will do this?
I know about "NPP in a box" etc. but I don't need the wireless control and all that. All I need is the vacuum switch and I'm hoping that once I find one, it will be much less than $170 for one of those all-in-one kits. Thanks for the help.
It's not so simple because the switch you need has to do more than just "switch" the vacuum. You can just purchase the GM vacuum switch (I have a new one I could sell you cheap) or we can build you a NPP in a box that you can just hook up to the DNX. In any case you will still need a relay, wire and allot of vacuum line (all which is included in NPP in a box) PM sent
