Looking for car care buffer ???
There is a big difference in buffers, and none are created equally. Alot of individuals have considered the move to a Random Orbital Buffer due to their offer of safety and abilities for minor paint correction and repair. They are also quite easy to use and so most could use them immediately with nice results and certainly better than hand application and removal.
The Porter Cable 7424/7336 (often called PC) is likely the most popular offering. It offers the ability to change pads / change backing plates / and speed sensitivity by dial. This is more than just a wax remover, and with the correct polish and pads can do alot of work even harder correction work. Sure some patience and care is needed, but no hard learning curve. It seems like everyone built upon this successful unit and likely not the first on the scene but became the Kleenex of Tissues.
Now we have two new (and one updated) buffers upon us that still offer all the benefits of the PC but with greater power and abilities. In testing these units are far more advanced than just a quick update or more orbits. The motors, chassis, and such really have been updated and offer alot more bang for the same buck. These buffers that really are the best of the best in entry level cost yet high performers. Early reviews suggest these units dont bog down as easily and really are indeed ready to help with proper finish care for your vehicles.

There is no wrong choice, and this certainly will replace the old Waxmaster with a machine that offers many benefits and uses. We at Autogeek have also designed many packages to work with these buffers and offer the correct pads and polishes too as needed. So if you are looking for a buffer, consider these for your needs and call us as wanted for help designing a package thats right for you.
And for those looking for circular polishers, and higher end random orbitals (like the Flex) we carry those too.

PC7424 btw.......
1. Always use the least abrasive polish and pad first and move to more abrasive polish or pad only as needed.
2. Tape corners , emblems, and glass to avoid touching. Use care when polishing areas like corners where paint could be lighter.
3. Never use the side of the paint for polishing , the corners of pad and bottom backing plate should never touch paint. Most of the time the buffer should be flat against paint.
4. Always practice first, and consider using another vehicle or test panel to learn polishing techniques.

Those swirls were terrible!
Killerwheels - I was leaning toward the Meguiars but if I want a brain dead way to replicate what I saw in that video what do I need to buy?
Plus, why no microfiber bonnet? I always thought bonnets were required for a polisher. The little crappy one I got from AutoZone requires a bonnet.
Is there a detailing / modding support group... I think I have a problem and need some help....

The buffer you have from that "other" store is a wax remover at best. And thats where bonnets come into play, for helping to remove wax. I dont use a buffer for wax removal personally as using a wax or sealant (synthetic wax) properly means a very light coat and easily wiping by hand. We offer Microfiber bonnets as they are softer than terry cotton and less prone to scratches. When polishing paint (thus removing old wax, oxidation, contaminents) a foam pad is best and occassionally a wool pad (our purple ones) could be used. Often times wool in general is much to abrasive.
We offer more than several kits that put it all together for easy picking. These are my personal suggestion:
