It is a mod. You can get one from DSVette or other forum vendors.

with Dan and Paul. Call Gerardo at DS Vettes - his products are the best available and his service is second to none. Trust me, you won't regret it.

Let us know if we can be of any help. We have a lot of options available with the steering wheels.

The 2005 wheel was $399.00 with a refundable $200.00 core deposit.

If I recall correctly, the 2006-2009 wheel is $499.00. You would be best served to send a note to Gerardo on price as all of his work is custom.

The install is pretty straight forward and takes between 30 to 60 minutes but since the airbag is involved I normally encourage folks to have a dealer do it since they are better equipped deal with disabling the restraint system. Most dealers charge between $60.00 and $100.00 to do the install for you.

There is generally more to properly disabling a steering wheel airbag and an inflatable restraint zone than disconnecting the battery terminal. The airbag system and the sensing and diagnostic module has a capacitive charge to maintain power in the event of a power loss on impact. This can last for 30 seconds to 30 minutes depending upon vehicle and model. With a battery cable left loose and the SIR system still connected at the steering column even a static charge could set off the airbag. If you want to disconnect the battery and roll the dice, that is your choice.

When I installed mine I followed the Service manual procedure and it was just a little bit more than just disconnecting the battery cable.
