Default Numbers

With the 1,500,000 Vette rolling off the line this year I did a little math just for the heck of it.

46 years in production Average Number 26,785.7 per year.

I would be a little miffed if I got one of the 0.7 ones off the line. I wonder what they left off to get 0.7 of a Vette.

Used a Pontiac Solstice engine and a 50's Powerglide!

Good one, Larry!

Oops, your average number is correct, so your number of years in production must be a typo. 56 years, not 46.

Yes it was a TYPO that the preview didn't catch. 2009 - 1953 = 56

1,500,000/56 = 26,785.7

OOPS 2009 - 1953 = 57 years in production not 56

The revised average is 26,315.8

I am sorry for all the misinformation. It won't happen again.

Did you subtract 1 year for 1983?

Right, the 56 year average was right. You just took the wrong side street to get there.

I added in a 0 for that year. Making it 57 years for the average annual production.

Good news, I was worried about the 26785.7 number. It didn't sound right.
