Have a problem with our '08 A6. The park release switch on the shifter is suddenly VERY loud and you can feel the switch clicking hard through the shifter when you depress the brake pedal and energize the switch. Car has 12k on the clock and never made a sound until yesterday. Now it clicks loud enough to hear over the car running with the NPPs open. Release worked perfect before and after the noise changed. Anyone else have this problem? Thanks in advance.
EDIT: Yes I did use the search function.
1) It's not in the passenger footwell, it's in the shifter.
2) It's not a faint clicking, it's VERY loud and rattles the shifter.
3) If it's a"normal noise", why was it not "normal" for the first 12k miles?

It is about to either break or stop functioning and leave you stranded. This has been reported by several members. Take it in and they will rebuild or replace the shifter.
Thanks guys. I have a few other small items for the dealer to check, I'll add this to the list. The vin is too early for the brake relay TSB, plus it's not in the footwell.
So the interlock solenoid is integral with the shifter and not a stand alone replacement? Thanks again.
