My '05 C6 has headlight problems. I can't get my lowbeams to turn on. My highbeams work. I have replaced the battery and all of my fuses and relay are fine. I can get the lowbeams to turn on occassionally, but they mostly do not turn on. I can't figure out why. It is happening to both lights simultaneously.

Intermittent fuse or switch problem is the only thing I can think of. I would replace the low beam fuse anyway. They can show good until a load is placed on them.
Is there a possiblity that I may need to reset the computer? This problem with the low beams started occurring after the battery died and was replaced. Also, the low beams will work 1st thing in the morning, for only about 20 minutes, then go out. If not a computer reset issue, could we have some overheating issue related to the ballasts? This doesn't seem right, since both go out simultaneously.
After the 20 minutes, the low beams will not go back on again until the next day, regardless of letting the car cool down (this seems weird).
This is driving me nuts, and I'm no longer under warranty and the inspection needs to be done within 2 weeks!

The ballasts had to be replaced under warranty on my '05 before I bought it over two years ago. No problems since I've had it.

Does anyone have a clue?
Regards,
If they work OK in manual mode, but not in automatic mode, you may want to use a scan tool such as the Tech 2 to check the out put of the photo sensor on the top center of the dash.

From your description, it sounds as though the switch is faulty, and the low-beams are coming on automatically in the morning because it's dark.
Cover up the light sensor in the middle of the dash to test this theory.
Since both lights go off together, perhaps it is not ballast related. Could this be computer related? Could the bad battery (now replaced) be related to this problem, where I need to reset the computer is some way to correct this problem?
When I indicated that they worked in the morning, it is 9:00 am, and it has been light for several hours.
I have already replaced fuses and relays (which didn't seem to be bad to begin with).
Brought the car to the dealership. They replaced cables between the battery and the fuse block. They indicated that the cables were damaged by the corroded battery that I replaced earlier. Also replaced the fuse block. Lights are working now!
