I've never found anything that keeps the dust from building up. I use Zaino on mine just to make them easier to clean, but good luck finding something that repels the dust. Like someone said above, the only way is to switch to ceramic pads.
I saw an infomercial on TV the other day with a product that claims it will repel everything.
Part of the demo was pouring some honey on the wheel and the honey just dripped off.
Anyone remember the name??

REJEX!!! And you can then do the rest of the car so that bugs and even tar will almost fall off. If it can keep things from sticking to the leading edge of military aircraft wings it can stop brake dust from sticking. http://www.rejex.com/articles/AvConsumer4_03.pdf

You can use any paint sealant (dont use wax as cannot withstand temps of hot metal wheels for a long period of time). We offer two specific products but any will do. I suggest Poorboys Wheel Sealant or DP Wheel Glaze. Apply monthly as desired and wash with car wash soap and water weekly. Makes cleanup a breeze.
Does DP wheel Glaze work on chrome polished wheels too?
I have a product called Wheel Wax by American Racing.
It repels brake dust.
Works great. I think I found it on ebay.
That's what I used and also used Rejex. Wheel wax smells so good.
After whatever sealant you guys use how do you remove the brake dust? A rag or do you use a wheel cleaner sprayl because wouldn't the Wheel cleaner wash off whatever protection you put on wheel?
My response was to keeping them protected and not polishing them..There are great polishes out there, but I do not know what kind of wheels they are...Chrome, aluminum, painted, etc??? C-magic makes a great chrome/stainless/aluminum polish...They are usually at the Corvette shows or online at cmagicwax.com...It all depends on how bad they areor they could be new wheels...When I put the Z06 brake package on, the ceramic brakes virtually eliminated brake dust and what little gets on the wheels, it usually rinses right off...
Will Rejex repel the dust that IMMEDIATELY consumes the rear the fascia too?
I cant drive one mile after washing the Vette w/o having the rear covered in dust (i live an urban area, no dirt roads)...
Good question which I can't answer since I haven't used rejex. I know the other several waxes I use don't but they do at least make it so I can go over it with a cali car duster and it wipes right off. Maybe someone will respond here as to rejex and the rear end actually having the dust layer repelled.
I don't know about keeping them clean to begin with but I bought the wheel brush from Autogeek and it makes cleaning the wheels very easy. I wish I had bought one years ago.
Anytime you use a heavy duty cleaner to wash wheels or your paint, it will remove all types of waxes, sealants or protectants...I haven't seen anything on the market that will protect against heavy cleaners...Some will offer better performance, but nothing lasts forever...The best thing to do is find the best protectant for your type of wheels and rinse them whenever you can with the least amount of cleaner...Never use detergents like dish detergent...Think about what they are supposed to do??? Get grease out of clothes, cut hardened grease off your pans and remove all kinds of staining liquids!!! Once again, invest in a good ceramic pad and your life will become a lot easier...

I find that usually I can wipe down wheels with paper towel or rag to remove brake dust. Maybe after applying Rejex or Wheel Wax brake dust comes off easier with no need to use a cleaner.
