i am sure (especially you senior members) that many of you are tired of questions as like this one below. but i am getting uneasy about putting too many mods on. many enhance the looks of our vettes, but there is a point when enough is enough.
question, do you guys, or have you guys placed a modification type (example, stainless/s, bullet, etc.) grill over the black plastic factory front grill? i realize whatever is placed on can be taken off.
As far as I am concerned "MODS" are a personal thing. Sorta like "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder". But for ME it is a "form follows function" thing. The opening of the grill is in a BAD place. A stone or road gator could do a lot of damage. So, I put my homemade screen behind the plastic grill. It cost me less than 10 bucks and it looks great.....remember the "beauty is" thing. Other than keeping it SHINEY thats my only "mod".
As stated in the prior post mods are a personal choice. As for the grill I have been tempted to do this mod, but in the end I always end up liking the stock look of the grill. As for other appearance mods I have stuck to the basics, logo mat, logo cargo mat (Jake), center console lid and stuff of that nature. Nothing really over the top just a few touches to personalize and enhance the overall look. You have to decide what you like and how much you want to spend. Enjoy.
I like the looks of the stock front grille however, I didn't like what was behind it so I installed the GM Stainless Steel Mesh Grille that mounts behind the stock "egg crate" grille. It also functions as a large object filter for my VaraRam CAI.
Appearance mods are entirely a matter of personal taste. It's not a tiresome topic but one of new inspiration.
