My wife got me an 8HP MB for Father's day and I just used it yesterday for the first time when we cleaned up the C6 after a trip.
Wow...the car looks fantastic and not a water spot to be seen. It does work as promised.
The only problem I had was the hose gets very hot (maybe I took too long to dry it) and is uncomfortable to bare hands.
Is there a way to insulate the hose maybe?
I just bought mine about 2 weeks ago and have the same problem. Thinking about just wrapping a towel around the end of it. The only other problems i've had is 1 ... the wheels scare me ... the thing weighs a bit so if it rolls and hits your car ... it's going to leave a mark ... and 2 the hose popped off of the unit but after taking a look at it .. I just moved the clamp farther up and it seemd to fix it
Again for anybody reading this ... if you haven't bought one ... it is 100% worth the money ... this thing blows 10x harder than any leaf blower.
I've had mine for about 6 months and have washed my vette numerous times and my Excursion. It does work great. The more you use it the quicker you'll get. The hose gets warmer than the nozzle so I hold the nozzle but it does get pretty darn hot. That thing kick a$$ at drying.
If you like it now, and I really like mine, just wait till it gets cold out. You will love it and that warm hose will be your friend. If I leave mine on the grass at the side of the driveway, there is no unwanted rolling.
Yes it does get hot, about 60 deg above ambient, so if it's 90 out you could be seeing 150 at the hose end, but that is why it works so well and leaf blowers can compair when it comes to drying the car. If you just run one motor (good for the wheels and general blow out of the markers and drip areas) the air will not get very warm and then switch to 2 motor for complete drying. One big tip is to make sure the car is well waxed. A good wax job (or Zaino in our case) will cut the blow off time in half
It does kick butt, and it does get warm. But come on, must be some sissy hands out there Touching your mainifold right after you drive, now thats hot LOL

Am not sissy hands!! I have working man hands with thick calluses and it still gets hot for me. My wife had the hardest time with her girlly-girl hands. She is the main detailer in the family.
It had the separation problem too before I tightened the clamp; now it is on tight.
It being the first use, I am sure we will get the hang of it. Regardless, it is a great product! I resisted for a long time but I am glad I have one now.

I have had mine for about 1 1/2 years now and love it. My car is still scratch free as no towel has ever touched it during drying. I have a good system down now and just about the time the hose gets too hot to hold onto, I'm done, so it is not really an issue.
Don't know if you guys are doing it or not, but be sure to open the hood, hatch and doors when drying. You will find water hiding in alot of places. Be sure to blow air into the hinge areas of the doors. You will be surprised how much water is hiding up in that area.
Sissy Hands I dried two cars last weekend with mine. I live in AZ and today it was 115. Matco Tools sells heat gloves. Here in AZ land we use them just to open the doors. LOL.

Be careful with that hot hose. When it gets hot, it also becomes quite soft and pliable. My blaster got stuck next a wheel and when I pulled (yanked) on it the hose bent back on itself and tore a couple of inches from where it connects to the unit. Where the hose goes into the connector it doesn't just screw in but is siliconed on, due to high pressure I guess. Now I'll have to buy a new connector. That said, the unit itself works like a champ, for true. I do like it. Anything that keeps this old man from getting down on his knees is a hit at my house! Son of Dreams, do I get that connector from you or maker?
