Default Window indexing issue?

I'm sure this question has been asked before but I did a search and couldn't find anything. Anyways, I have a 09 ZO6 and the passenger window indexes when you open the drivers door, shut the car off or open the trunk. It works fine when you open and close the passenger door but the indexing the other times is annoying and leads me to believe that there is a problem. This is my third C6. The other two worked fine. I had taken it in to Cormier Chevy a couple of weeks ago for a battery replacement. I mentioned the indexing issue and they said that they would reset everything and that this happens when the battery dies (I know, didn't make any sense to me either). Nevertheless, even though they "reset everything" the passenger window continues to index. HELP!!

Default Try reindexing it yourself......

From page 2-18 of my 2008 Owner's Manual:

Window Indexing
This feature automatically lowers the window a small
amount when the door is opened. When the door
is closed, the window will raise to its full up position. If
either window does not index properly, it could be due to
loss of power. Before returning to your dealer/retailer
for service, perform the power window initialize
procedure.

Power Window Initialize
After a power reconnect such as battery replacement,
the window index-up feature will not function until
the system is initialized.
Once power is restored:
1. Close the door.
2. Raise the window and hold the switch up for three
seconds after the window is closed.
3. Release the switch, then hold the switch up again
for three seconds and release.

The windows need to be re-indexed every time the battery dies or is replaced. It takes a few minuets and is covered in detail in the owners manual.

I think he's asking about the other times the passenger window indexes.
I don't recall it doing at at these other times.
If it id indeed abnormal, I would first disconnect the battery for 10 minutes, let the car reboot, and then redo the index, both sides.

If you have not suffered a power loss (dead battery) the first thing to try is simply reset the window index for both doors. Get in the car, shut the door, put it in accessory mode and lower the window all the way. Raise the window and when it reaches the top, hold the switch for an additional 3 seconds. Release the switch. Now hold the switch in the up position for an additional 3 seconds. Do this for both sides. If this doesn't make the problem go away It sounds to me like you have faulty door switch that is causing the problem. The drivers door window should index when you open the driver's door. The passenger window should index when you open the passenger door. That's it. The passenger window is not intended to index when you open the hatch or the drivers door, nor vice versa. If your's is, there is something wrong. Try to swap the door pad switch from one side to the other and see if you can replicate the problem.

If the window indexes up and down continuously, then it could be the problem described in this bulletin:

EI08034 — Power Window/Regulator Concerns, Inoperative, Intermittent, Indexing, Continuous Up and Down (Diagnose Door Handle Switch, Replace if Necessary)Models: 2007-2008 Cadillac XLR2007-2008 Chevrolet Corvette ________________________________________ ____________________________________This bulletin is being updated to end the need for diagnostic information and to provide field fix information. If diagnosis confirms the condition is caused by the exterior door handle switch, replace both driver and passenger switches. Be sure to mark which switch comes from the driver and passenger doors. The fix for this is to replace both door switches....even if only one is found to be defective....
