If you have a C6 with the MN6 transmission then you probably already know that the transmission features a reverse gear lock-out that activates at 3mph (5kph). That's a nice feature! What I'm curious about is this: does a 1-4 skip-shift eliminator affect the circuitry that controls the reverse gear lockout? I don't have a 1-4 skip-shift eliminator so I can't experiment on my car. Just wondering....

I think it's 2 different systems. All the skip-shift eliminator does is provide a 'dummy' load back to the ECU so it thinks the 1-4 shift solenoid is happily doing it's work so a CEL is not set. This should not interfere with the reverse lockout.

Thanks spin-doktor and LMB-C6 for the feedback. I like the fact that I can pull 5-6 and downshift 6-5 with no fear of hitting reverse and it's reassuring to read that feature will remain when, and if, I install a skip-shift eliminator.

I honestly don't even know why anyone needs the skip shift eliminator anymore. I drove my Vette for months before I even realized it was there. The paramaters that cause it to kick in are so narrow I very rarely ever have to do the 1-4 shift. At first I thought they forgot to install it on my Vette because it never kicked in. Now I know it is actually there, but anytime it kicks in and that little 1-4 light lights up on the dash i just mash a little more gas and it goes away. Problem solved from my end. :-)
