Loose inside mirror
My rearview mirror is loose - it will stay in position when the car is not moving but drops down as soon as the car starts to move. I can see that there is loose ring on the back but cant see how to tighten it up. I'm too afraid to mess with it too much because of the onstar. Any suggestions on how to tighten it or where to find some pics of how to do this? Thanks for any responses. (car is an 06 3LT coupe)

first unplug it, next take the entire mirror and base off (just need to twist the base where it attatches to the window about 30 degrees and it will fall in your lap) the mirror will "pop" off the ball swivel point if you take off the round "doo dad" clip. The reason for loosness? cant say but once you get it apart that far (will take about 5 minutes) then you will know. good luck, paul

there are three small metal pins that sit horizontally where the mirror attaches. take them out, bend them as straight as you can and re-assemble. depending how loose yours is this might help a little or a lot. it will never be perfect though.
