Pour it straight from the bottle into the washer reservoir...
Have you guys read the bottle where it says not to get it on painted surfaces? Rain-X contains acid to etch the windshield so it adheres better. This is why wiper blades deteriorate faster when you use it. Don't believe that? Put some on a cotton cloth and let it sit for a month and see what happens.
That said, I've used it for over 15 years and it is great stuff. At highway speeds you seldom need wipers. The only downside is that when you do use the wipers the water breaks into droplets too small to blow off at low speed so you end up with a fog that is harder to see through at night. The solution is just don't use the wipers or only use a single sweep or never drive slowly at night.
Finally, having used Rain-X for so long I was hesitant to switch to Rejex but I have finally switched over. Rain-X lasts a month or so while Rejex lasts at least 6 months. Rejex also seems to have less of the low speed night fog.
RainX would be useless for most vette owners who are too afraid to drive their car in the rain.
That's a good one!
I use the RainX on all cars. It really works well with the sloped windshield on the Corvette. Never had any issues at all. No soft windshield and i drive right after putting it on if need be.
Rain-X hint: Clean the windshield thoroughly and apply Rain-X. I then start spraying the front bumper and mirrors with a 10% Simple Green solution about every 10 minutes to soften the high speed bugs. Then I wash the car normally. That way the bugs come off very easily and ther is no smearing from the Rain-X.
Used it for years on all my cars, can't drive without it. I consider it a safety feature, works AWESOME, cars should come from the factory with it already on.
You apply it like wax, every month or so. When it's fresh, you don't even need your wipers unless your stopped in the rain.
Oops, did I say the rain word??!? I know some of youse don't drive in the rain, but I do, and my car hasn't melted yet!!
I tried it years ago, still have the bottle sitting on the shelf. It seemed to leave a film or something so I stopped using it.
Maybe it's better now.

Been using something called Rain-X 2-in-1 Glass Cleaner + Rain Repellent. I'm no expert but it seems to work and has no warnings about paint but I do use MeGuires fluid on paint around glass afterward. I apply with a sponge like thing, like a Dobie but less abrasive, to get off bugs and stuff - really works better with some water in sponge and less rubbing to polish at the end (probably less film too but I use frequently). Since I live in Florida, I need to remove bugs about every time I drive so with frequent applications, long lasting is not an issue. Use it on back glass (Coupe), side glass and mirrors too. Really great to keep side mirrors from misting up.
Also, found it really works great on SUV back glass to keep clean and to keep visibility at max in rain. Use it on the glass of the SUV all around and it looks like a full detail afterward
I bet I've used Rain-X for 10 -20 years on all my cars and loved the way it worked. 2-3 years ago I found RejeX and will never go back to Rain-X. RejeX is so much easier to apply, just like any other wax, wipe on wipe off. No wetting and buffing like Rain-X. It lasts for a long, long time, does as good or better job than Rain-X and never streaks or smears if you do have to use your wipers. Plus if you slop it on the paint or black parts, no problem. You could actually do all the paint with RejeX (but that is what Zaino is for... )
used to on the sidewindows. I find all this stuff on the windhsield eventually starts to smear in the rain--during the daytime it's ok. At night, it's a nightmare! jmo, but I wouldn't use it on the windshield.
I found it to leave black marks from the wipers at their reversing points...The directions on RainX specifically tell you NOT to get it on the vehicle's paint - that alone keeps me from using it anymore. I use Rejex on my windshield and it won't damage your vehicle's paint if you accidentally get it there.

THAT is what I was referring to. To me, it looks like a smeary stuff that is hard to see thru at night. For others on here, it works. That's fine with me!
I have used it for years. There are 2 version; the kind you apply directly to your glass like a wax and the type you add to your windshield washer container. Once you use it you will be spoiled. I used it on all of my autoglass, however, it is not recommended for plastic windshields such as on a motorcycle.
I love it and often say its a product that does what it says. Put a light coat on and let it DRY. Rub it off and it works wonders. I do all the glass and mirrors on all my cars. No film, no problems.
Great stuff! No need to wipers in rain! It will last 3-4 weeks, but the lifetime is reduced if you use your wipers. The stuff work absolutely GREAT!

Great Stuff!
The company Rain-X now makes about 20 different products. Everything from the original Rain-X which is for making water bead on glass to bug remover to wiper blades to car washing soap. http://www.rainx.com/Products/Default.aspx The washer fluid line does not include the same treatment chemicals so it won't eat your paint like the original glass treatment product does. And it also doesn't work as well. Even the 2 in 1 glass cleaner with rain repellent uses a different less effective repellent. See the sample photos for treated and untreated for the two products.
The original Rain-X glass treatment is great stuff but don't get it on your paint. Rejex lasts 10 times as long and does just as good at repelling water and you WANT to get Rejex on your paint.
What I do is ClayBar the windshield and then two coats of RainX. The secret to RainX is the polishing between coats. Use a micro-fiber cloth and polish until all the haze and streaks are gone. Works great!
Invisible Glass also works well at making water run off. It's all I use and really cuts down on wiper use. FYI - there is a new Invisible Glass that has Rain-X in it. Have not tried it though.
