They pull right off. The drivers side has the split you can flex it around the line. If you put a painted one on you can put the blue painters tape on the FRC so as not to scratch it. Some guys have gone as far as taking the line off to put the FRC on. But I didn't find it necesary to do that. David
I just wrap a detailing towel around the fuel line when removing or installing covers.
After seeing that art this may have become an expensive click. I may now need some new FRCs to go with the liner I'm hoping to pull the trigger on this winter.
I'm thinking a package deal BTW, sohiers, since I kinda highjacked your thread a little, I figured I'd give you another option. You can get about an 8" tube and cut along one whole side. You can then fit this around the fuel line and even add a little lubricant to let the FRC slide better.

That's what I did.
I also put some towels in the dryer for a few minutes. Then I wrapped the new FRC's with the warm towels and placed them in the dryer (don't turn it back on). After a few minutes, the new FRC's will be warm and flexible.
