I was wondering if the dealer can tell if the rev liiter has been activated and how long by hooking the computer up to the car?
My bet is that they can....computing power being what it is today...but then again, that's what the rev limiter is there for -- to prevent
damage to the car. I'll bet Talon90 knows for sure!
My guess is yes, based on this info from the manual (2009 model).
Vehicle Data Recording and
Privacy
Your GM vehicle has a number of sophisticated
computers that record information about the vehicle’s
performance and how it is driven. For example,
your vehicle uses computer modules to monitor and
control engine and transmission performance, to monitor
the conditions for airbag deployment and deploy
airbags in a crash and, if so equipped, to provide
antilock braking to help the driver control the vehicle.
These modules may store data to help your
dealer/retailer technician service your vehicle. Some
modules may also store data about how you operate the
vehicle, such as rate of fuel consumption or average
speed. These modules may also retain the owner’s
personal preferences, such as radio pre-sets, seat
positions, and temperature settings.
I wonder if the rev limiter info is uploaded to OnStar like all the other stuff.

This would obviously be a very easy software app to add to the ECM, so who knows.
When I owned one of the 4-cam 32V Mustang Cobra (and used to get into the rev limiter), there was a rumor going around on the Mustang Corral Forums of Cobra owners being denied engine warrantee work due to having been into the limiter repeater. Don't know if it was urban legend or not.
