muffler take off????
if i take off my mufflers is there any way i can leave my tips on? thanks

cut and weld them on what ever you put in place of the mufflers... did I win

so in order to remove the mufflers and leave the tips i would have to weld a pipe in place of the mufflers?

Yes, plus you wouldn't want the exhaust gases exiting the system under the car. The gases could enter the passenger compartment.

Are you kidding???????? If you take the mufflers off then you have to put something in there to hold the tips.

Just take the headers off the heads, remove everything back, cut the tips off and duct tape them onto the bumper. No one will ever guess you have no exhaust system.

Any exhaust shop can do that for you cheap. The sound will probably be a little raspy but it will be loud if that's what you are wanting.

what else would you do? weld them back on somewhere under the car?

Maybe a picture will help. The tips are part of the muffler. So, if the muffler goes, so do the tips. You need to get a pipe to replace the muffler, weld the tips onto it and come up with a way to support the end (see the prongs sticking out?).
