Default GM Bra...

I will be using my car for some road trips and now that I have a BLACK Vette, I can tell a bra woudl probably be a good investment.

Anyone use the GM bra? Price seems right and it's a factory accessory. Do you like it? Pros & cons please.

I have it and have used bras from all the major brands over the years. It is probably slightly lower quality than a Colgan (mainly in the lining), but the fit is excellent. As with any bra, it will take a little time to stretch it during the initial install and can be a bit of a pain. Overall, I have been pleased with mine and would buy it again. I shopped around and Gene (forum vendor) had the best price.

For road trips the GM Bra is the way to go it will give the protection you are looking for and is not bad looking at all.

How much is it? Is it a one person install? I've never worn a bra (haha), do the bugs come off the leather (or fake leather) pretty easy after use? Bug guts on my car drive me insane.

I like the thickness of material which protects the front bumper really well. I only use it on a long trip and it saves me alot of time after the trip cleaning splattered bugs off!
I believe the price is a little short of $100.
As for installation, it is an one man job, BUT if it's first time put it out in sun to get it warm. It's alot easier to stretch when warm hence easier to install. As for tools all you need is a small screw driver to pop the middle of push pin out in the wheel well to replace it with "button" pin.
One thing that I do not like about this bra is the "tabs" that you have to force into around the headlights. Use a credit card or something thin to get it going and you can't be too shy pushing the tabs in. Once it's installed it stays snug and no problem.

I, too, have the GM bra and only use it on long trips. If you have a grille insert, such as a Racemesh or similar, you have to remove it to install the GM bra correctly.

Default Bra

Anything that straps onto your car over time will scratch the paint. Just think about it....bumps in the road, engine vibration all cause minor shifts in the material. When the clear bra was invented thats what I use and recommend. And you don't have to keep taking it on and off. I know there are many schools of thought on this so this is just an educated opinion based on using both types over the years and 4 Vettes.

I just installed a Colgan. The lines look very good and fit is great. I worried also about sliding the tabs into the gasketed headlite but I guess time will tell.
