Yesterday I was out driving with the top off. Nice day with scattered clouds. I wasn't far from home when a storm cloud decided to let loose. I was about a half mile from my home and thought I could make it without stopping and putting the top on. As long as I kept moving, the rain was not entering the cabin. I would push the garage door opener while pulling into my driveway and just drive right on in. Well,...the windshield was being glazed over with the rain and I went with my instincts of turning on the wipers. Wrong move. The rain water had to go someplace and it came around the side of the windshield right into my face. It was like someone had thrown a bucket full of water at me.
I'm sure someone else has had this experience, or maybe not, and I'm the only stupid one. But I would never give up the fun times of owning a corvette.
Dumbazz? Why would you call me that? I posted this thread because I thought it was a humorous experience that others might think so also. Seems all you want to do is to insult someone. You need to go back to your wannabe LEO job that you try to brag about in your profile. I used to be stationed at NAS Jacksonville and met a lot of good locals there. You must be an exception. Good day.

Why do some people have to post something nasty like that? Have they never done something that they felt foolish about or regretted after the fact?
Maybe it was meant as a joke but there was nothing to indicate that and it wasn't humorous.

Yes, you're correct. It is hard to inflect emotion in a post, but that is why we have the option of including smilies with our posts in this forum. I may have "flown off the handle" a little quick, but there wasn't any indication of humor in that post.

I had a similar experience with my C5 vert. I left the dentist's office and was less than a mile from home when the sky opened up. I was on a bridge so nowhere to pull off. My turn to home was right after the bridge. I was doing fine until I pulled into the driveway and the garage door wouldn't open. The power was out. I managed to get the top up before too much got wet inside. I quick wipedown and all was well. I keep my windshield polished so I don't need to use the wipers unless there is a real heavy downpour.
