i just installed new tail pipes on my 09 z06 and after the install. my car wont go into reverse without force and my check engine light camer on. i did notice i slightly damaged a wire on the passenger side of transmission. not bad just stripped off a little insulation on wire. Is there a fuse i can check for the transmission solenoid or do i have to go to dealer to trouble shoot my issues. any input would be appreciated.
It will be interesting to see if fuse 10 is blown....let us know...sounds like you may have grounded the wire and blown it....although it shouldn't have been energized when you were working on it...
actually i had a cags skip eliminater fuse in. and its basically a blown fuse anyway. i dont think the same circuits relate but i may be wrong. i switch back to original fuse and it still not activating the reverse solenoid,
Skip shift is on fuse #10 (10A),
Reverse lockout is fuse #13 (25A).
The strange thing is that a fault with the reverse lockout (P0801) does NOT set a CEL, but the skip shift solenoid malfunction will.
It's possible that if fuse #13 is blown that may be causing something else in the circuit to set the CEL.
Just a thought but I think the 2 connectors for the above are the same.......is it possible they got swapped during your exhaust install?
Yup fuse 13 is the culprit I must of grounded out the circuit when I scraped off wire insulation. i can shift into reverse now. great. i will drive car for a bit in morning and see if check engine light goes out. if not I guess I will take and have code read. I wss starting to get over tired and pissed off at myself. i cant stand when I cant easily find solutions. I chenged fuse and fiixed scrape with a little liquid tape and silicone.
so all code readers read ther codes for 2009 vettes. if so or not does anyone recommend one? Like the ones at autozone.

The CEL code should go away if it doesn't re-occur, but it will take more time than that. It takes a certain number of restart cycles for it to clear. Give it some time...
