Default Stealthy Vettes

Standard Rant,

Two people pull out in front of me without enough space within a space of 5 minutes. They can't see me?

One guy gets annoyed cause I end up on his tail. This is on a highway. He pulls right out in front of me and then is annoyed?

Do you ever wish we could just have our own little Vette world?

The problem is we do have our own little Vette world that is constantly invaded by others.

This happened to me once (not in the Vette, though). A woman in a minivan pulls out right in front of me, and then proceeds to slam on the brakes and swerve around like a maniac (I guess because I'm following her too closely). Then she stops, puts her head out the window, and starts yelling at me. All of this happened within 1/8 of a mile. All I could do is laugh. I wish I had it on camera, and she would be a youtube celebrity.

It ain't the Vette, this has happened to me in every vehicle I drive. People don't have the situational awareness they should have when merging. They just barge into traffic.

Happened to me in a parking lot. I was driving in the traffic lanes at the speed limit and a elderly gentleman was cuting across the parking spots. I mentioned to my wife that this guy is going to t-bone us while I stomped on the brakes. He just missed us when he turned into the traffic lane right in front of us. We ended up side by side at the traffic light a hundred feet up. I noticed he was staring at me and appeared upset. I rolled down the widow and asked if there was a problem since he just cut me off while crossing the parking lot. He said that I should not be speeding through the parking lot and tailgating. I can only assume he did not see us until we were on is back bumper.

Sure seems to happen less when I'm in my F150. Maybe they know the brakes aren't nearly as good in my truck? Or the law of gross tonnage scares them?

A friend told me once when merging into traffic that he picks the most expensive-looking car to pull out in front of, and that reduces his chances of getting hit.

I'm also thinking smaller cars just look like they're going slower, even when they're doing the speed limit. People's distance/time computers just seem to work right.

I had a daily driver for a while and I didn't care what happened to it -- if they didn't have the right of way they couldn't bully me.

Met my match one day driving home, a late 70's Chevy pickup with multi color, multi dented, rusted body. He got his way. Was a bad section of town and wasn't a good place to stop and swap insurance info. Assuming he had any.

Ah Yes....the "cloaking device" was implemented. its an option that isnt listed on the window sticker but all vettes have it. its activated when the button is pushed on the dash. seriously though sometimes we cant be seen by people in suv's and jerks on the phone

Happens to me all the time. cut off, pulled in front of, etc etc

Yesterday I have a lady in a mini van cut me off while leaving a traffic circle then do 30km/hr in an 100km zone in front of on the on ramp onto the hwy. I pass her (well under the speed limit) when we finally merge onto the hwy and I get the royal salute out her side widow? WTF? I didn't do anything?

Everyone has to get it front of you, instead of getting behind you when no one is there. I don't get it.

lets face it....90% of the people driving today have no idea how to drive, they are the "me first" generation, on that damn cell phone, you name it...... I can't believe how bad its become trying to stay "crash free".
