Default Possibly, a stupid Question.

I have an 08 vert with black interior. I LOVE my car, but I live in Tampa and it gets pretty hot. Now I love the heat as well, and would have the top down all the time, except for the fact that with the leather seats I sweat like a bitch on the seats.
First I look like I pee'd myself when I get out and second, I figure with all the salt in sweat, it can't be good for the leather. Since I have the heated seats, it's probably not good for the heating element either.

I hope this isn't a stupid question, but I figured " what the hell, I've looked stupid before".

Is there any way to get after market cooled seats, preferably by retrofitting the present seats?

I am sure most of my warm weathered convertible brothers would agree it would make a huge difference in the amount of time they would spend with the top down.

can't answer your question but you might try some seat covers. cloth anything would be better than our leather seats in the heat.

I have the exact same problem. When i'm out of the car, the top goes on, I put my seat towels on and my sun screen goes in the window. when I come back to the car, nothing is hot and i can sit in it just fine

There are seat cooling/heating pads. Plug into your lighter. I think they circulate water that can be cooled or heated. I have seen them in stores but never bought one.

As an alternative idea, Sheep Skin 's are a viable alternative. They are cool in the summer and warm in the winter. I know, they went out of style a few years ago. They worked great for years and last for years.

I agree!!!....get the lighter colored ones. I love mine in the hot weather. It REALLY makes a difference...........and, no -- there is likely no way to install cooled seats.

My previous '99 had black seats so I know what you mean. My '07 has cashmere seats which are a lot cooler to get into the car with, but the downside is having to clean them once a week.

Try Autogeek.com They have some covers that are a good fit. They look like they are denim and where very well and fit well. You can take them off and wash them when they get dirty.
