Ok, so was driving down 17S in NC and hydroed over a ditch. I actually ended up side ways and a Suburban was behind me and all i could see out the passenger window was his front grill. I ended up going over a ditch and damaging the passenger side of the car. Off the first look i could only see the front fender damaged, but after washing it clean i noticed it had cracked the door, the door jam and some of the front bumper. The impact knocked the driver side wheel caps clear off along with the driver side mirror.
I drove the car the four hours up to Va. and even drove it around today and it was fine. I took it for a short drive later on and then it wouldn't start. I had to get it towed to the dealership where the driver side window went down but would not come up. The mech had to jump the battery and then it went up. I;m not sure what the deal was with the electrical problem, but will find out tomorrow form the dealership. The battery is stock from 2005 and has never had to be changed.
I must have had an watching over me, and she knows who she is. I figure she gave me the electrical problem as a way of punishing me in a less fatal way.
You definitely had someone watching over you. The window issue sounds like they just need to be reinitialized once the battery is disconnected or in this case dead. Check out the owner's manual for more info.
I was going about 45mph thats all, no lie. I may have tapped the gas and it spun the wheels then lost traction. No bells or whistles went off until today when I lost power. The light for the traction control came on and it said service suspension. It felt like i was loosing my steering began to get stiffer right before i parked the car.
The picture of you holding your head says it all. Be thankful and reflect on what you might do in the future to advoid similiar occurances. Your guardian angel gave you a second chance, so don't blow it! I'm sure I am not telling you anything you don't already appreciate, but I am an old fart who has survived many death defying instances who appreciates your pain.
May be expensive but not as costly as it could have been. Glad you're okay and you're here to write about your experience. Let us know how it all unfolds as it's a cheap lesson for all on the Forum.
