Paddle shift question

Default Paddle shift question

When is S when using the paddle shift and coming to a red light or a stop is it supposed to drop down into 1 or 2 . Mine is dropping down to 2 is this correct

It goes to 2nd when you stop. You can still paddle down to 1st if you want, or even paddle up to 3rd. (Not sure why someone would want to start out in third gear, but it's an option.)

The above responses are correct. However, if you've not used the paddles since you put the tranny in "S", it will downshift to 1st when you come to a complete stop. Same when the tranny is in "D."

Starting off from a stop in a higher gear may help you keep from loosing traction in slick road conditions.
