Default Vetteless... :(

Well, as of this morning I'm "vetteless". As some of you know I'm planning on getting a 2011 Callaway GS and needed to sell my 07 Coupe because I just don't have the garage space to keep 4 cars.

Anyway, I was browsing the for sale section to get an idea what is selling and noticed a post from a fellow member looking for a car like mine for his dad. Thursday night I sent him a PM telling him that I was going to be selling mine and was planning to put it on the market within the next couple of months. Long story short we made a deal and he drove off with it this morning.

I never expected that it would sell so quickly so I may have to change my plans and look into a 2010 Callaway GS. Even though I have my XLR-V to play with, my garage just does not look right without a Corvette.

To Eric... It was a pleasure meeting you today and I look forward to seeing pictures of your dad standing next to his new car!

Always cool to see cars change hands quickly without any headaches, and most importantly to someone who will appreciate it (as it sounds he will).

Congrats and good luck.

Callaway GS, huh? Sounds nice!
When I first began to read your post, I saw 2011 and earlier today I read somewhere that GM maybe putting smaller V8's in the 2011 cars due to future restrictions, etc, along with the Z06 and ZR1 being eliminated(Rumors, I know you know about Rumors being either X-military or still in-as I once was) but then I saw the Callaway part and said, that boys' got his sh$! together!
I just got my vert changed into a Callaway 3 months ago and I'll tell you that I don't think I can ever drive a non-supercharged vette again! It just ain't the same annamule! I love this car! I got the brake package and the New 9-Spoke Chrome Callaway wheels that just came out, like LAST WEEK and they are beautiful!
Sorry I don't have pics yet; I just had the car in the shop for the last 5 days getting the rear end cradle and lower control arms polished and all the nuts and bolts chromed and had a Z51 sway bar chromed too! It is OUT OF SIGHT! I'm waiting for another transmission pan to come in to have it chromed too!
Anyway, point is, I'm not so sure I'd wait for the 2011 cars in case they do downsize the motors; sure Callaway will help alot but you may end up less than the current Callaway at 580 HP!!!
FOOD FOR THOUGHT!

HMMMMMMMMM????

Good Luck either way, Brother!

Yeah, I heard that rumor too. I don't particularly believe it, but who knows. With my luck I would wait on the 2011 and there would be a HP decrease. After all, I bought a 2007 and GM came out with the LS3 the next year.

I'll see what the winter months do to the 2010 GS price and if I come across a good deal I'll take it. The good news about selling my coupe so fast is it gives me the opportunity to research and make some decisions about the GS and the flexibility to jump on a good deal when I see one. I have been corresponding with Chris at Callaway learning all I can. Can't wait to see pics of your new ride!

I would just go with a 10 GS Callaway since you don't know what 2011 would be like. You also don't know what the economy will be like then. They are saying that it is improving but these same people said we were not in a recession next year. I hate rumors but I also hate the reason behind these rumors. Even a Z06 gets better gas mileage than most performance sedans and definitely 99% of the SUV/Crossovers/trucks. Plus you never know what will come up.
